Perched on a west facing slope, high above Lovers Cove, this 2200 sf house was completed in 2006 for an island couple and their visiting family. The design is a series of upturned sheds that lift in all directions to catch daylight. Modern materials, selected for their durability and sustainability, are juxtaposed with natural wood and salvaged timbers used for columns and sun shading. Each room of the house is equipped with corner windows to maximize daylight and encourage diagonal views of the forest and water.
